Active Independence is a charity made up of disabled individuals who specialise in consulting with, helping and advising other disabled people and their family members, Personal Assistants and Carers to find their way around the maze that is personal budgets and personalisation. They also help individuals to employ their own PA.

They provide training and support to help people to overcome barriers, and tackle isolation and loneliness through enjoyable and engaging social events such as Vintage Tea parties to develop friendships between local residents.

DICE is a not-for-profit social enterprise in Doncaster that provides activities, events and services for adults with a disability. Throughout the year, DICE runs social events, "out and about" days, discos and social pub nights at a range of venues around Doncaster. They also sell DICE branded clothing and merchandise.

Edlington Hilltop Centre is a sustainable project in the heart of the community which has the aim of delivering a wide range of educational, training and skills development for all members of the community. Provision is made to include groups such as the long-term unemployed and women returnees wishing to ‘up-skill’.

They aim to re-model and protect Carr House Allotments as a sustainable community asset. Their education programme fits with the concept of outdoor learning and the outdoor classroom.

Creative Art as Therapy, led by Maggie McAndrews, offers sessions for people restricted by disability, diagnosis, illness or lack of confidence to engage in a creative process and create pieces of art. Her network also enables individuals to access services to support their mental wellbeing such as alternative therapies and self-development.
